Nomination of candidates for the office of Conseiller of the Chief Pleas of Sark, for the By-Election to be held on the 25th August 2021, have been received by the Speaker of Chief Pleas (Returning Officer) and are listed below:

In accordance with Section 25 (2) of the Reform (Sark) Law, 2008, as amended, I hereby declare that the above-named candidates are duly elected to be Conseillers of the Chief Pleas of Sark.
There remains one unfilled vacancy from this By-Election and this vacancy will be held over to the General Election in December 2022, or a future By-Election if one should be called earlier due to a further casual vacancy occurring.
The above-named Conseillers (Designate) have elected to serve the remaining terms of office, as follows:
Pippa Rose Donovan – Term ending in January 2025.
Joseph Michael Donovan – Term ending in January 2023.
For clarification purposes there were three vacant seats, the remaining vacancy has a term ending in January 2023.
The above-named Conseillers (Designate) will take the Oaths of Allegiance and Office, before the Seneschal’s Court, on Wednesday the 18th August at 2pm.

In accordance with the Reform (Sark) Law, 2008 as amended and with The Reform (Election of Conseillers) (By-Election) (Sark) Ordinance, 2021
A FURTHER ELECTION OF CONSEILLERS SHALL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 25TH AUGUST 2021.
The Polling Station shall be at the ISLAND HALL (TOPLIS ROOM) and voting shall take place from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm that day.
PRESCRIBED FORMS OF NOMINATION OF CANDIDATE to stand as a Conseiller are available from the office of the Speaker of Chief Pleas, forms may also be downloaded here, and shall be completed by two persons and the candidate all of whose names shall be inscribed on the Electoral Register and shall be delivered by hand of one of the persons named on the form to the Speaker or Deputy Speaker of Chief Pleas (Returning Officer and Deputy Returning Officer respectively), not later than 12 Noon on Friday 13 August 2021.
Forms of Nomination shall not be returned before 1.00 PM on Tuesday the 3 August 2021.
The returning of nomination forms to the Speakers Office is to be as follows:
Tuesday 3 August, Wednesday 4 August, Friday 5 August, Tuesday 10 August and Wednesday 11 August between the hours of 1 pm to 3 pm.
Friday 13th August between 10 am and 12 noon.
On arrival at the Speakers’ Office, the Speaker checks the validity of the Nomination Form. The Speaker will let you know immediately about the validity of the form and any actions to be take if the form is invalid.
In the event of an equality of votes being given to two or more candidates, and the addition of one more vote to his/her poll would have entitled such candidate to be elected, a further election shall be held in accordance with the above stated Law and Ordinances on Wednesday 15 September 2021; in respect of such candidates only and without further nomination, between the persons who have obtained such equality of votes. The Polling Station shall be at the same place and between the same hours as stated above.
